Silent Shadow Overview
Silent Shadow is a DOS arcade game set in the Persian Gulf, where the player controls a modern fighter aircraft. The primary objective is to escort a large bomber safely to its target, where it can then destroy an enemy fleet.
Gameplay involves navigating through four distinct areas: an enemy airbase, a city, a desert, and finally the fleet itself. The escort role presents a challenging balance, as staying too far from the bomber leaves it vulnerable to destruction, while following too closely risks a collision. The player's fighter is equipped with special capabilities, including the generation of false radar images, which aligns with its "Silent Shadow" designation. A limited supply of expansive bombs can clear the screen of enemies. The experience supports two-player cooperative play, with each participant controlling a separate fighter.
