Race! Overview
Race! is a top-down arcade racing game where players compete against small computer opponents or up to three local players sharing a keyboard. The game features twenty distinct levels, each populated with various obstacles ranging from common oil slicks to more unusual hazards like tornadoes.
Player performance directly influences vehicle capabilities, with successful racing improving a car's speed, acceleration, and grip. A helicopter rescue service, which also becomes faster with better overall performance, is available when a vehicle crashes.
An integrated track editor allows for the creation of custom courses and the modification of existing levels with player-designed hazards.
