Populous: The Promised Lands functions as a Data Disk expansion for the base game. It introduces five distinct landscape themes, including Wild West and Révolution Française, which are available for map creation.
These new environmental types can be utilized within the Paint Map mode to design custom scenarios. Additionally, the expansion provides a substantial set of 500 pre-made maps specifically for the Conquest mode of play.
