Moonstone: A Hard Days Knight Overview
Moonstone: A Hard Days Knight is a DOS game where one to four players control knights tasked with locating a powerful artifact. The central objective is to recover the moonstone, a quest given by druids to address a crisis in the land.
Players explore a map containing various locations. These include towns for purchasing gear or gambling, enchanted sites, and numerous cabins that serve as lairs for hostile creatures. Each cabin typically houses two or more beasts, with their placement being randomized. Defeating these enemies yields rewards, and any beasts killed remain dead for subsequent visits, whether by the same player or a rival.
The experience supports solo play, where a single human player competes against three computer-controlled knights. The narrative remains consistent regardless of player count. A notable feature is player-versus-player conflict; knights can encounter each other on the map, duel, and the victor may plunder the loser's gold and equipment. Acquiring the moonstone is presented as merely the first phase of the adventure, with further developments following its discovery.
