CHAMP Kong Overview
CHAMP Kong is a DOS shareware title that recreates the Donkey Kong arcade experience. The player controls Jumpman, who must navigate platforms and ladders to reach the top of a structure and rescue a character from the ape Kong. Obstacles include barrels and fireballs, which can be destroyed with a temporary hammer, while collecting scattered items awards bonus points.
The software offers two distinct ways to play. One mode replicates the arcade original in its look, sound, and mechanics. The other is an enhanced version with altered level designs and additional bonus opportunities. A high score table is included to record player achievements.
Configuration options allow for customization of the experience. Players can adjust the game speed, select from three difficulty settings, and choose between single or two-player modes. Input is supported through keyboard, mouse, or joystick, with a special cable available for use with digital joysticks.
