Hopy-ONE Overview

Alt. Names: Bio-Droid: HPY-1

Hopy-ONE is a DOS game centered on a bio-droid created for a critical mission. Its creator, Professor Jonathan Silt, established a lab in 2013 to study the galaxy's most dangerous mutating virus, the F.L.V. After becoming infected in 2026, Silt was placed in cryogenic suspension.

The gameplay involves navigating through levels where the primary objective is to gather virus samples. Success in this task is necessary to advance and is linked to developing a vaccine. The narrative stakes are high, with the outcome for both the frozen professor and the wider universe depending on the droid's performance.

Player control of the bio-droid includes basic lateral movement, jumping via a shrinking and releasing action, and the ability to stretch. For defense and interaction with other hostile droids on the stages, it can fire shots along a horizontal plane and utilize extendable tentacles, which also allow for morphing.
