Gary Grigsby’s War in Russia Overview
Gary Grigsby's War in Russia is a World War II strategy simulation focused on the conflict between Germany and the Soviet Union. Players assume command of either side, managing military operations and industrial production across the entire eastern front from 1941 through 1945.
While the primary scale of command is at the corps level, the simulation allows for inspection of individual divisions down to their constituent squads and tanks. The game offers multiple starting scenarios, such as the initial German invasion or the later Battle of Kursk, providing different strategic contexts.
Beyond the direct theater of war, events in other campaigns like North Africa and the Western Front are modeled and can be affected by player decisions. For the Axis player, this includes managing the consequences of the Allied strategic bombing campaign against industrial targets.
