European Championship 1992 Overview
European Championship 1992 is a DOS adaptation of a soccer arcade title, reconfigured for the specific tournament format of that year. The competition involves eight European national teams, which can be any from the continent, divided into two groups. From these, the top two teams from each group progress to the knockout semi-finals and final.
One or two players can participate, selecting their team and controlling play via keyboard or joystick. The on-field action is viewed from a side-scrolling perspective. A notable mechanic is the ball adhering closely to a player's foot, with passing and shooting initiated by a single button press. The officiating is fair, as the referee typically allows robust sliding tackles, reserving free kicks for the most forceful collisions.
