Disney’s Aladdin Overview
Disney's Aladdin is a side-scrolling platformer developed by Virgin, adapting the 1992 animated film. The player guides Aladdin through a series of environments drawn from the movie, including Agrabah's streets, the Cave of Wonders, and the Sultan's dungeon, culminating in a showdown at Jafar's palace.
Opposition comes from palace guards and desert creatures. For defense, Aladdin can use a sword or throw collected apples. The game features a system where gathered gems can be exchanged with a traveling merchant for additional lives and continues. Special Genie and Abu icons trigger distinct bonus stages; one is a luck-based game for rewards, while the other has the monkey catching falling items while avoiding hazards.
The visual presentation is noted for its humorous animation, which was produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation.
