Arnie Savage: Combat Commando Overview
Arnie Savage: Combat Commando is an isometric action game that functions as a sequel to an earlier Amiga and Commodore 64 title. While its name references a well-known actor, it is not an official movie license. The player controls a muscular protagonist through four distinct combat zones, each with a primary objective.
Success depends on challenging reflexes and aggressive tactics. The protagonist is equipped with a standard firearm and a limited stock of grenades, the latter being particularly effective against entrenched positions like foxholes that continuously spawn infantry. Defeated enemies may leave behind more powerful weapons, health-restoring first aid kits, or extra lives.
Level objectives vary, including sabotaging a chemical plant, securing an airfield, navigating between warships in a harbor, and liberating prisoners from a jungle camp. Environments are densely populated with hostile forces, ranging from stationary soldiers with rifles, mortars, or rocket launchers to more formidable threats like machine gun teams, missile emplacements, and tanks.
