Sengoku Overview
Sengoku is a side-scrolling beat 'em up for two players set in a future threatened by gangs. The conflict escalates when the villain Nobunaga initiates a temporal invasion, pulling warriors and creatures from Japan's historical sengoku period into the fray.
Combat involves collecting colored orbs dropped by foes. These items serve various functions, such as restoring health, expanding the life gauge, or providing weapons like samurai swords. The setting shifts between urban landscapes and a spirit realm, where players confront mythical Japanese figures.
A key mechanic involves defeating specific enemies to acquire their souls, which allow for a temporary transformation. By summoning these spirits, a player's character can change form, gaining new attacks and abilities as an armored wolf, a samurai, or an acrobatic ninja.
