Rocky Rodent Overview
Rocky Rodent is a side-scrolling platformer where the protagonist must rescue a kidnapped girl named Melody. The plot is set in motion by a mafia figure, Don Garcia, who has taken the daughter of a restaurant owner. In exchange for his efforts, Rocky is promised an unlimited meal.
Gameplay involves navigating through levels at a fast pace. While a standard jump can defeat some foes, the central mechanic revolves around four distinct hairstyles that grant special abilities. These haircuts function as primary tools for both combat and traversal.
Each hairstyle offers unique utilities. One allows Rocky to impale and throw enemies, break specific blocks, and cling to ledges. Another mohawk style can be thrown like a boomerang or embedded in walls to create a bounce pad. Braids operate as a grappling hook, and a corkscrew cut enables higher jumps via a head-bounce maneuver.
Maintaining these power-ups is a challenging aspect of play. If Rocky takes damage while using a special hairstyle, he loses it. Being hit without an active hairstyle results in the loss of a life.
