Nigel Mansell's World Championship Racing Overview
Nigel Mansell's World Championship Racing is a Formula 1 simulation for the Super Nintendo. Its release coincided with the real-world driver's championship success of its namesake, Nigel Mansell.
The gameplay occupies a middle ground between detailed simulations and more action-oriented racing titles. Races feature a field of twelve cars, with lap counts adjustable between three and twenty. For longer events, pit stops are a standard and necessary part of strategy.
Players have access to several vehicle setup options before a race begins. These include adjustments to wing downforce, gear ratios, tyre type, and fuel load. A distinctive feature on 16-bit systems is the Improve With Mansell mode, where a digitized image of Nigel Mansell offers guidance and feedback from a corner of the screen.
