Final Stretch Overview
Final Stretch is a Super Nintendo racing game that simulates the 1993 Formula One season. The game offers multiple modes, including a Grand Prix campaign, two player competition, and a Time Attack option.
In the Grand Prix mode, players can select a difficulty level that significantly alters the experience. The easy beginner setting allows any team to be chosen, removes qualifying sessions, and disables vehicle collisions during races. The challenging expert setting introduces a nine lap qualifying session and includes machine setup options, while also permitting data to be saved.
This mode is for a single player only and utilizes a split screen display. The top portion can cycle through several camera angles, while the bottom consistently shows a chase view of the player's car. The game's development was overseen by professional driver Aguri Suzuki.
