Might and Magic III: Isles of Terra Overview
Might and Magic III: Isles of Terra continues the conflict between the guardians Corak and Sheltem, now relocated to the world of Terra. Sheltem, originally assigned to protect this world, has rebelled and is using the technology of the Ancients to attack other planetary systems. A new party of adventurers is formed to assist Corak in stopping this threat.
The game is a first-person role-playing experience where players explore large environments and engage in turn-based combat. Character creation involves selecting from five races and ten classes, including the new Druid and Ranger options introduced in this sequel. Characters can develop various skills such as thievery or merchant abilities, continuing systems from earlier series entries.
Enemies are visibly present in the game world rather than appearing through random encounters, allowing players to choose when to engage, potentially from a distance. Combat can be avoided by moving away unless the party is already targeted, though negotiation or surrender is not an option. The game provides an automap and allows saving at any time, making the overall experience fair in its pacing and management.
