Lufia & the Fortress of Doom is a role-playing game where players explore dungeons containing various puzzles. Combat uses a turn-based system initiated at random, with actions selected from a menu.
The story begins a century after a great conflict, where a period of extended peace has led to a decline in global defenses. When new attacks emerge, a descendant of the original hero and his companion Lufia must assemble a team to confront the threat.
