ToeJam & Earl Overview
ToeJam & Earl is a game where two alien characters from Funkotron must locate the scattered components of their damaged spacecraft on Earth. The environment is populated by various obstacles, including groups of humans and other unusual entities that hinder progress.
Gameplay involves navigating through a series of randomized levels to find these ship parts. A key feature is the use of wrapped presents as items, which contain unknown effects until opened. This randomization extends to the level layouts and item placement, creating a different experience with each play session.
A cooperative two player mode is supported with a dynamic screen system. The display splits vertically when the players separate, allowing independent movement, and merges back into a single screen when they are near each other again.
