Menacer 6-Game Cartridge Overview
Menacer 6-Game Cartridge is a compilation of six titles designed for use with the Menacer light gun peripheral. The included games span several light gun genres, from target shooting to defensive and scrolling action scenarios.
Several titles involve defending against or eliminating specific targets. In one, the player protects a pizza from insects using a spotlight and insecticide, with larger bugs splitting apart when hit. Another requires shooting aliens emerging from pods in a set sequence, with a random mode available; targets can return fire, making the pace challenging. A third game, set in the Toejam & Earl universe, is a side scrolling shooter where tomatoes are fired at various enemies and special items, with later levels introducing enemy retaliation.
Other games alter the core shooting mechanics. One is a Breakout style game where a paddle is used to bounce a ball to change the color of blocks, some of which provide power ups. Another is a military themed shooter where tanks, aircraft, and other vehicles must be destroyed using a cannon or limited missiles. A final game tests accuracy by having the player shoot pictures of bandits while avoiding pictures of civilians.
For the shooting games, players can toggle an Accu Sight crosshair on or off. If the crosshair is disabled, an optional Binocular Module for the Menacer can be used instead.
