Socket Overview
Socket is a platform game where the player controls a robotic duck tasked with correcting disruptions in the timeline. An antagonist known as the Time Dominator has used a time machine to plunder historical treasures, causing temporal instability. The Time Warp Patrol dispatches the protagonist to resolve this crisis.
The core gameplay involves navigating through distinct environmental zones, each presenting a specific playstyle emphasis. These include areas designed for rapid movement, others focused on precise jumping, and some that are more exploratory in nature. The robot character's energy depletes continuously during operation, requiring the collection of electrical bolts scattered throughout the stages to replenish it. Contact with enemies reduces this energy reserve.
Player actions are limited to running, jumping, and kicking in horizontal or vertical directions. The game's structure cycles through themed zones, with boss confrontations against the Time Dominator occurring at set intervals. Additional modes allow for isolated time trials on specific stages and access to a sound test.
