Mario Andretti Racing Overview
Mario Andretti Racing is a driving simulation featuring three distinct vehicle classes: Indy cars, stock cars, and sprint cars. Each class employs its own physics model, with sprint cars exhibiting noticeable sliding on dirt surfaces.
The game presents a field of 27 AI opponents, each with unique performance profiles. For any given race, the player selects one of eight available cars, which differ in attributes like engine power, braking, grip, and pit crew efficiency. Races can be viewed from either a behind-the-car or a hood-mounted perspective.
Longer events introduce a strategic element where pit stop management becomes necessary. A quick fuel-only stop is an option if tire condition is still acceptable. The racing environment also includes a detectable slipstream effect.
