Wheel of Fortune: Family Edition Overview
Wheel of Fortune Family Edition for the NES adapts the television game show into a digital word puzzle. Players attempt to solve a hidden phrase by selecting letters, with monetary rewards tied to correct guesses.
The central mechanic involves a spinning wheel that determines the cash value for each letter guess. If the chosen consonant appears in the puzzle, the player earns that amount multiplied by its frequency. However, landing on certain spaces can result in a loss of earnings, introducing a fair element of risk. Vowels cannot be guessed freely and must be bought using a player's accumulated winnings.
This edition supports multiplayer competition for up to three human participants. It also includes the option to face computer controlled opponents, whose skill can be adjusted across three distinct difficulty levels.
