Captain Skyhawk Overview
Captain Skyhawk is a mission based action game where the player pilots a specialized fighter jet to stop an alien invasion. The extraterrestrial forces are in the process of depleting Earth's energy with the ultimate goal of the planet's destruction.
Progress is achieved across eight distinct operations, each combining several types of aerial combat and navigation tasks. One recurring segment involves a top down view of a three dimensional landscape, where the objective is to eliminate ground based enemy structures. Another shifts to confrontations against hostile aircraft in a style reminiscent of arcade flight combat games.
A key logistical element involves the careful maneuvering required to dock with friendly space stations. These stations serve as hubs where credits obtained from destroying enemy craft can be exchanged for weapon upgrades or ammunition replenishment. The campaign concludes with an assault on the primary alien space station, which must be destroyed to secure victory.
