Splitz Overview
Splitz is a Game Boy adaptation of the 1986 title Split Personalities, functioning as a timed picture reconstruction challenge. Players launch pieces from the board's top left corner, then slide them horizontally or vertically to form a complete image, which can be referenced on demand.
The puzzle mechanics include interactive elements like doors, which can remove pieces from the board and return them to the launch queue. Certain bonus items grant points or extra time when combined, while others like bombs pose a risk, deducting a life if not neutralized within five seconds. Bombs can be eliminated by pushing them through a door or into a water tap.
Environmental features such as wall cracks will cause a piece to rebound to its prior position. The game imposes a time limit for each puzzle, with failure to complete in time resulting in the loss of one of three lives, making the overall experience challenging.
