Mega Man IV is a Game Boy exclusive title that incorporates material from the fourth and fifth NES entries in the series. The narrative is set in the year 20XX, where the antagonist Dr. Wily has raided a Robot Museum to retrieve the remains of his defeated Robot Masters, which he has reactivated for a new assault.
This renewed conflict escalates with Wily's deployment of an orbital laser cannon, a weapon intended to destroy Earth. To counter this dual threat of revived adversaries and planetary annihilation, the protagonist Mega Man coordinates with allies. The objective is to thwart Wily's plans before the cannon can be fired.
