Pocket Bomberman Overview
Pocket Bomberman is a side scrolling platform game where the player controls Bomberman, a hero tasked with retrieving five Power Stones. These stones are needed to break a seal on the Sword of the Sun, an act that will dispel a dark cloud covering the sun. Each stone is guarded by a boss monster at the end of a world.
Gameplay involves navigating through areas and defeating monsters by placing bombs that explode after a short delay. The explosion radiates in four directions, and enemies caught within its range are eliminated. The player must progress through four standard areas in each world before confronting the boss in a fifth area to obtain the Power Stone.
Bomberman can be harmed by direct contact with monsters, hazardous environmental items, or the blast from his own bombs, resulting in the loss of a life. When all lives are expended, the player may choose to restart the current area or quit. Throughout the levels, strategically placed bombs can reveal power up items that enhance abilities such as jump height, movement speed, and the radius of bomb explosions, making the overall experience fair.
