Kung-Fu Master for the Game Boy is a side-scrolling action game where the player combats numerous enemies across various stages. The objective is to progress through these levels and ultimately defeat a primary antagonist.
Player actions are limited to a basic set of martial arts maneuvers, including punches and kicks. A somersault move is also available, and occasionally, bombs can be collected to inflict greater damage on foes.
While the core activity involves fighting, some stages incorporate platforming sequences. Each stage concludes with a confrontation against a challenging boss character that must be overcome to advance.
