Jungle Book Overview
Based on the 1994 Disney film, the Game Boy version of Jungle Book is a platformer where Mowgli navigates ten stages. Progression requires collecting a set number of jewels found in the environment or dropped by defeated animals.
Enemies include various jungle creatures such as snakes, monkeys, and rhinoceroses. Mowgli can defeat them by jumping on their heads or using collected weapons like bananas, boomerangs, and nuts. Defeated foes also provide ammunition for most weapons and can yield health-restoring fruit or special items like an invincibility mask.
The game alternates between standard platforming and boss encounters. Every other level concludes with a fight, featuring antagonists from the film as well as the unusual requirement to battle the friendly bear Baloo. A found shovel allows entry to bonus stages.
