Chessmaster is a digital chess adaptation originally popular on computers, now released for a handheld console. Its design accommodates a wide spectrum of player skill, from those learning the rules to experienced competitors.
Instructional support is provided through a tutorial system and a library of over 150 historical matches for study. Players can test their skills against 18 different computer opponents, each with distinct strategic approaches. For local play, a two-player mode is available using a link cable.
