Densha de Go! 2 Overview
Densha de Go! 2 is a 1998 port of a Japanese train operation title. Its design leans toward arcade-style play rather than detailed simulation.
Players are tasked with managing a train's schedule, which involves precise station stops and adherence to posted speed limits and signals. Passenger safety and comfort are also operational concerns. The game uses a point deduction system for errors, and a total loss of points results in failure, making the experience challenging.
Available routes differ by platform. The selection includes several real-world Japanese lines, such as parts of the Tohoku and Akita Shinkansen networks, the Keihin-Tohoku Line, and the Osaka Loop Line. The PlayStation version introduced the ability to operate a Shinkansen and drive in snowy conditions.
