Robot Ponkottsu 2: Cross Version is a Game Boy Advance title that expands significantly on its predecessor. The protagonist, having achieved a high rank in a previous tournament, finds himself stranded on an island after a storm. His new objective involves confronting a villain named Maskman, a task that unexpectedly requires time travel to a period two decades earlier.
Gameplay revolves around collecting and improving a large roster of over 180 creatures known as Robopon. A revised combat system permits the use of a full party during battles. Multiplayer functions are included, supporting competition for up to four players with a single game cartridge and featuring mini-games.
