Robopon 2: Ring Version is a Game Boy Advance title that expands significantly on its predecessor, featuring a narrative where the protagonist Cody, now a champion, is stranded by a storm. The story involves confronting a threat named Maskman, which leads to a journey that spans two decades into the past.
Gameplay revolves around collecting and developing a roster of over 180 creatures known as Robopon. A revised combat system permits the use of multiple Robopon simultaneously during battles. Multiplayer functions include a mode for up to four participants using a single cartridge and various mini-games.
