Zyclunt Overview
Zyclunt is a side scrolling action title set in a dystopian 2002 where society is crumbling. Genetic engineering has created human like cyborgs, many of whom have been recruited by criminal groups after being marginalized by the authorities.
The player assumes the role of Sou, a young operative from the Blade Warrior mercenary group. His initial mission to clear a city district of hostile cyborgs unfolds into a larger conflict. Progression is linear, with Sou using a sword and abilities like jumping and ducking to combat foes.
Gameplay incorporates beat em up mechanics, requiring the elimination of all enemies in a section before moving forward. While primarily melee focused, limited use ranged weapons can be found throughout the stages. Opposition consists largely of cyborgs, robots, and other machines, making the combat challenging.
