Ulysses and the Golden Fleece Overview
Hi-Res Adventure #4: Ulysses and the Golden Fleece is set in ancient Greece, casting the player as Ulysses on a royal quest to locate a legendary treasure. This objective requires navigating through distant lands and seas, where figures from mythology such as Cyclops, the Sirens, and King Neptune present obstacles that must be overcome.
The interface combines graphical and text-based elements. A large portion of the display shows imagery of the player's immediate surroundings, while a text parser at the bottom accepts two-word commands for interaction. The graphics can be removed temporarily to review a log of recent input.
Success depends on finding solutions to the various challenges posed by both the environment and the mythical characters encountered during the journey from a starting town to the fleece's location.
