Seek and Destroy Overview
Seek and Destroy is a vertically scrolling shooter where the player controls a vehicle with full directional rotation. The ground shifts realistically beneath the vehicle as it turns, creating a distinct motion effect. Missions take place across varied environments including deserts, jungles, snowy areas, and sea zones.
Gameplay revolves around combat and objective completion, primarily targeting destruction alongside occasional rescue operations. Players collect powerups such as ammunition, fuel, and golden medals during missions. Onboard systems include a scanner for guidance, a mapping function, and a limited protective shield.
Between mission phases, a preparation stage allows for complex configuration of the vehicle. Using medals earned in the field, players can upgrade primary weapons through three levels and purchase special weapons. Critical logistical choices involve allocating ammunition, balancing fuel, armor, and speed attributes, and sometimes selecting between a tank or helicopter. Poor planning in this stage can make progression challenging, as insufficient resources like fuel or armor directly impact mission viability.
