Rescue Rover 2 is a puzzle game where the player must navigate a series of rooms to free a dog named Rusty. The premise involves aliens who have mistakenly identified Rusty as a leader and have deployed robots to capture him.
Gameplay involves moving through environments containing various hazards such as forcefields, traps, and water. Success depends on precise movement and the strategic manipulation of objects like crates and balls. These items can be used to obstruct robotic guards or create paths across obstacles.
The objective is twofold: first, reach the imprisoned dog, and then safely guide both characters back to the room's exit. This requires careful planning to ensure neither character is harmed during the escape, making the overall experience challenging.
