Renegade Overview

Alt. Names: Arcade Archives: Renegade, Ghetto, Kunio-kun The World: Nekketsu Kōha Kunio-kun, Nekketsu Kōha Kunio-kun, くにおくん ザ・ワールド ~熱血硬派くにおくん~, アーケードアーカイブス 熱血硬派くにおくん, 热血硬派, 熱血硬派くにおくん

Renegade is a scrolling beat 'em up originally developed by Technos. The Western release transposes the setting from a Japanese city to the streets of Brooklyn. The player's objective is to rescue a kidnapped girlfriend across five distinct stages, which include urban environments like subways and docks.

Combat utilizes a variety of moves such as punches, kicks, headbutts, and flying kicks. The tone of the violence is not entirely serious, incorporating a humorous, tongue in cheek style. This title served as the foundation for the Kunio series and inspired later unofficial follow ups.
