Life & Death 2 – The Brain Overview
Life & Death 2 – The Brain is a surgical simulation where the player assumes the role of a surgeon performing operations. This sequel shifts its focus from abdominal procedures to those involving the brain, while retaining the core premise of treating patients with various conditions.
Gameplay involves using a range of diagnostic and surgical tools, including new additions like a CAT scan, MRI, hammer, and pin. The player monitors several patient vitals during operations, such as EKG readings, CO2 levels, and urine output. The experience is considered challenging due to this increased complexity, though an in-game manual provides guidance.
Improvements over the first title include enhanced graphics and sound, more detailed patient examinations covering areas like the face and limbs, and more informative diagnoses. A notable change allows multiple operations to be undertaken without completing them in a strict sequence. The game incorporates an educational component, directing the player to a tutorial classroom to review mistakes made during procedures.
