Deathkings of the Dark Citadel is a standalone expansion for the game Hexen. The narrative follows directly from the conclusion of the original, with the player character transported to an afterlife realm after acquiring the Chaos Sphere.
To achieve freedom, the central objective involves journeying to a stronghold and defeating its rulers, the Deathkings. The expansion provides twenty new single player levels organized into three hub areas, alongside six additional levels designed for multiplayer deathmatch.
This content was developed by the original Hexen team. It does not introduce new enemies or graphical assets, focusing solely on new level geometry. The software is available as a standalone digital release for Windows platforms.
