Gear Works Overview

Gear Works is a top-down puzzle game where players connect red cogs using a selection of three gear sizes. The playing area includes a grid of pegs that supports these connections, though this grid becomes less complete in later stages, increasing the complexity.
Two creatures called Poffins introduce additional obstacles. One removes pegs from the grid, while the other accelerates engine overheating. Players can temporarily neutralize them by shooting or by placing gears over their positions.
Each puzzle must be solved before the engine overheats, creating a time pressure. The game also features a bonus round modeled after a fruit machine, but using game elements like cogs instead of traditional symbols.
