Dračí Historie Overview
Dračí Historie is a point-and-click adventure game from the Czech Republic. Its development history is notable, as it was the first Czech game published on CD in 1995 before becoming open-source freeware over a decade later.
The story centers on Bert, a young dragon living in a civilized society where dragons and humans coexist. His father's sudden disappearance, rumored to be over a treasure hunt, sets one part of the plot in motion. Concurrently, Bert becomes an unwitting tool for a magical wand named Eveline, which causes various disruptions that Bert must now resolve.
Gameplay involves exploring environments, gathering items, and using them to solve puzzles. Interaction is managed through mouse controls: the right button performs actions while the left button examines objects. A map, which populates as new areas are discovered, allows for quick travel. Dialogue with other characters is handled through a branching tree of selectable questions and responses.
