Crown Overview
Crown is a non-linear platformer where the player journeys through six distinct nations, each with its own unique character and gameplay mechanics. The objective across these varied settings is to accumulate enough resources or complete specific tasks to ultimately claim kingship.
Gameplay shifts significantly between locations, requiring adaptation to different roles and challenges. In one region, a knight on horseback must gather shields while navigating obstacles, while another features a Viking collecting treasure and avoiding sea creatures. Control can also extend to animals, such as a bear performing dances for coins or a dragon leaping between islands to gather sustenance.
Other scenarios include navigating a bridge while catching mice and dodging objects, or piloting a flying carpet to capture a required percentage of magical lamps. Success in each area is defined by meeting clear quantitative goals, such as collecting a set number of items or achieving a specific completion rate, which suggests a challenging pace. The player's path to the crown is self-directed, choosing the order in which to tackle these diverse national trials.
