Corridor 7: Alien Invasion Overview
Corridor 7: Alien Invasion is a first-person shooter built on a modified Wolfenstein 3D engine. The setting is an underground research facility where a Martian artifact, exposed to gamma radiation, has opened an interdimensional portal, triggering an alien incursion.
Players assume the role of a Special Forces agent tasked with clearing each area of hostile entities, a primary objective that replaces the simpler exit-finding goal of its predecessor. The engine enhancements include distance shading, animated textures, and an integrated automap to aid navigation.
The game was released in two distinct editions. The standard disk version contains thirty levels set within the research base. A separate CD release expands this with ten more single-player stages, introducing new weapon and alien varieties. This edition also provides multiplayer functionality, supporting up to twelve participants in Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch modes across eight dedicated maps, a notable capacity for its time. In these modes, players can select from a roster of twelve characters, comprising two human models and ten aliens, each with minor statistical variations in speed and health, though weapon access remains uniform.
