Catacomb Abyss Overview
The Catacomb Abyss is a fantasy first-person shooter where the player controls a magician. This protagonist is summoned to confront an old adversary named Nemesis, whose followers have built a large mausoleum and imposed a reign of terror on a town.
Gameplay involves navigating both indoor and outdoor areas, a change from earlier dungeon-confined entries. The mage attacks primarily with fireballs, which can destroy walls, and can also discover single-use bolts and nukes for more powerful strikes. Other collectibles include healing potions, keys, and scrolls that provide hints.
Enemy variety includes new types such as zombies emerging from the ground and skeletons appearing from walls. A radar system reveals enemy locations, but requires the collection of colored gems, each corresponding to a specific foe type. While the game lacks a compass, different map regions are identified by distinct names.
