Super Off Road: The Baja Overview
Super Off Road: The Baja is a Super Nintendo Entertainment System adaptation of an arcade racing series. It utilizes the console's Mode 7 graphical capability to present a three dimensional, third person perspective for its off road driving.
Financial resources are gathered during races by collecting money bags scattered on the courses. These funds are allocated to upgrade specific vehicle components, including the engine, tires, brakes, shocks, nitrous oxide systems, and lights.
The racing environment features expansive point to point rally style tracks across three distinct tournaments, each named for its total distance. The courses are populated by competing vehicles, civilian traffic, and animals, all of which can obstruct the player's progress or be struck.
