Mario & Wario Overview
Mario & Wario is a Super Nintendo Entertainment System puzzle game that requires the SNES Mouse peripheral. The player selects from three characters, each with a distinct movement speed: Princess Peach moves slowly, Mario at a medium pace, and Yoshi quickly. Wario initiates each stage by placing an object, starting with a bucket, over the character's head to obstruct their vision.
Control is indirect, as the player guides the blinded character using a fairy named Wanda. The character moves forward automatically until encountering a wall, which causes them to reverse direction. Wanda can also tap the object on their head to make them turn around. Navigating through the course involves avoiding hazards like spikes and enemies; contact with these results in a lost life. Collectible items found in stages include Coins, Stars, and Mushrooms, which can provide extra lives or additional time.
The objective for each level is to safely reach Luigi at the exit. After completing a world, a bonus stage allows the player to control Wanda in striking Wario's aircraft to collect coins.
