Front Mission: Gun Hazard Overview
Front Mission: Gun Hazard is a side scrolling shooter that incorporates role playing mechanics, operating as a spin off from its parent series. Its setting is a near future Earth where large humanoid mecha known as Wanzers are common military assets. The narrative follows a pilot named Albert Grabner, who becomes involved in a coup in the nation of Bergen after being tasked with escorting its fleeing president.
Progression occurs by moving across a map to select stages, which then play out as side scrolling action sequences. The player primarily controls Albert inside his Wanzer, which can jump and utilize two weapon types. A key tactical feature is the ability to eject from the mech, leaving Albert vulnerable but more agile and able to access confined areas with a jetpack.
Character and equipment advancement is central, driven by completing mission goals and defeating enemies to earn currency and experience. Found or purchased upgrades include new weapons and armor, alongside mobility enhancements like a hover booster and a dash function. The game also allows for the recruitment of support characters who provide covering fire during missions and develop their own capabilities through gained experience.
