Denjinmakai Overview
Denjinmakai is a side scrolling beat em up set in a near future city threatened by terrorists. The narrative is minimal, primarily serving to frame the action as players fight through linear stages filled with enemies.
Three characters are available in the SNES release, each with distinct special techniques. These moves consume a dedicated meter that refills over time, rather than costing health. Basic actions like attacking, blocking, and throwing are common to all fighters.
Opponents include various soldiers, lizard men, and robots, with behavior patterns that differ based on their strength. Weaker foes tend to charge directly, while stronger ones often use projectiles before closing in. Every stage concludes with a boss fight against a unique opponent capable of both short and long range attacks.
The arcade version of the game features three additional playable characters and an extra stage not found in the SNES port. When two players are present, a cooperative team up special move becomes available.
