Battle Zeque Den is a side scrolling beat 'em up structured across six levels. The player selects one of three warriors, Rufu, Kairu, or Hamusu, who are distinguished by their base speed and attack power.
Their mission is to avert an apocalypse by restoring the balance between light and darkness. Each character has a standard moveset including jumping, blocking, and grabbing foes, but also possesses three unique special attacks. Two of these are regular special moves, while a third super move consumes a portion of the character's elemental power.
Character progression is possible, with health and attack power increasing as the game continues. The gameplay incorporates light platforming elements alongside its core combat.
