Super Volley ball Overview
Super Volleyball is a side scrolling indoor volleyball title for the Sega Genesis supporting one or two players. The camera follows the ball during play, with a radar display indicating team positions. Players control athletes who can execute a range of actions including bumps, sets, spikes, blocks, digs, and dumps, alongside several serve types such as underhand, overhand, and jump serves.
Eight national teams are represented, though with fictional player names. A team editor allows for the creation of custom squads, where team name, color, and individual player names and positions can be defined. During a match, the active player on the court can be swapped by pressing a button.
Single player modes include a standard match against the computer and a World League tournament against all other teams, the latter featuring a password save system. Match rules can be adjusted through options for ball speed, starting point score, and a handicap, providing a fair range of control over the game's challenge.
