Fire Shark Overview
Fire Shark is a top-down aerial shooter set on a South Pacific island. Players control a modified World War II biplane equipped with lasers and bombs, facing a variety of enemies across ten levels.
The gameplay involves navigating a continuously scrolling battlefield where enemies from the air, sea, and ground launch numerous projectiles, creating a challenging environment. Weapon capabilities are enhanced by collecting power-ups, which are released from destroyed blimps and other targets and drift on screen for a limited time.
Standard armaments include bombs and a Wide Shot, the latter being less powerful and often requiring multiple hits. More advanced weapons, obtained through upgrades, include the spiral-pattern Shark Beam laser and the potent Super Fire, which can sustain fire and be upgraded to fire four beams simultaneously. Collecting power-ups can also increase shot density per blast up to sixteen.
Between missions, the plane lands for servicing. A scoring system awards bonus points based on unused bombs and collected lightning bolt icons from the previous level.
